Pro Tournament Rules

Comprehensive guidelines for a fair and competitive fishing experience

General Rules:
  1. Anglers must wear a USCG-approved flotation vest or jacket while the outboard motor is running.
  2. All state DNR rules apply to Frankie’s tournaments.
  3. Boats must comply with all MN DNR safety requirements.
  4. Each angler must have insurance covering potential accidents during the tournaments.
 
Tuesday Night League Rules:
  1. A 5 Bass limit applies, including either large or smallmouth bass.
  2. Minimum size for bass is 12 inches (mouth closed, tail manipulated).
  3. All fish must be released after the weigh-in.
 
Pro Tournament Rules:
  1. A 4 Bass limit applies, with the same species and size restrictions as the Tuesday Night League.
  2. All fish must be released after the weigh-in.
 
Common Rules for Both Tournaments:
  1. Boats must have a functional live well to keep the catch alive and in good condition.
  2. Dead fish penalty is 0.25 pounds per dead fish weighed in.
  3. Bringing a short fish to the scales results in the loss of the largest fish plus the short fish.
  4. Late arrivals at weigh-in/check-in will be disqualified.
  5. No alcoholic beverages, live bait, or cell phone use (except for emergencies) during tournament hours.
  6. Winners are determined by total bass weight, with specific limits for each tournament.
  7. In case of a tie for 1st place, the team with the largest fish wins. Other ties will result in combined and split prizes.
  8. Respect for other anglers’ fishing space is required, with unsportsmanlike conduct possibly leading to disqualification.
  9. All participants must adhere to the rules, with bad sportsmanship being grounds for disqualification as determined by the tournament committee.
  10. Anglers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  11. There are specific off-limits periods for pre-tournament activities for each tournament.
  12. Full boat inspections will be conducted before each tournament.
  13. All decisions made by the tournament director are final.
  14. Entry fees are non-refundable except in specific circumstances like weather cancellations.
  15. Protests must be submitted in writing within 20 minutes of weigh-in, accompanied by a $50 deposit.
